What is a Learning Difficulty?

The National Health and Medical research Council(1990):Learning Disabilities is a generic term which refers to the substantial proportion(10-16%)of children and adolescents who exhibit problems in development and academic skills. These difficulties are considered to result from one or more of the following factors: intellectual disability, physical and sensory defects, emotional difficulties, inadequate environment experiences and lack of appropriate educational opportunities.
